Her older sister was jealous, and attempted to get herself into the school with Lily. After a rather difficult row between Lily and Petunia, the otherwise happy and close sisters became distant. Their relationship has been iffy ever since. Especially now that Petunia is engaged to a walrus of a man who Lily cannot stand. History: Lily grew up in Spinner's End with her older sister. The two girls lived near a playground, and were allowed to go and play in the playground while their mother hung laundry in their yard. While there, Lily met Severus Snape, a local boy who told her she was a witch. At first Lily was taken aback by the boy, who seemed rather dark and lonely. But as the time passed and the two kept bumping into each other, Lily and Severus became friends. When Lily's letter inviting her to Hogwarts School arrived, her parents were very pleased. Severus wasn't surprised, and the two friends were looking forward to going to school together. The only person who wasn't pleased about the new arrangement was Lily's older sister, Petunia. Her dislike of the situation stemmed mostly from jealousy, and she even went so far as to try and owl the Headmaster to be admitted to the school. This secret was kept between Severus and Lily, and was only used in a devestating row between Lily and her sister. Their relationship suffered since. Lily was sorted into Gryffindor on her first day of Hogwarts School. She met Sirius Black, James Potter and Remus Lupin that day. Sirius was a good-looking boy, very outgoing, and Remus seemed to share a passion for learning with Lily. Her groups of friends changed over her first six years at the school, waxing and waning the way teenage affections often do. The only constants in her school years were her hidden best friendship with Severus Snape, and her dislike (maybe that hid more than dislike) of a boy named Potter in her house. At the end of their fifth year, after OWL exams, Lily was hanging around with some girlfriends down by the lake when James Potter and his friends started picking on Severus Snape. Lily galliantly came to his aid, drawing out her wand to defend him. To her shock and horror, Severus turned on her, calling her a 'mudblood.' During Lily's sixth year of school, in the absence of Severus and Lily's best friendship, Lily and James started spending more time together. She found herself swept up by James' charm, and his apparent obsession with her. It took him half a year to rouse her into a date. Things between Lily and James started to develop. She was torn between her feelings for him and her relationship with her estranged best friend. Parts of her felt like they were being torn apart at the seam because of the differences between the two men in her life. She convinced herself, though, that her friendship with Severus had ended, and she decided to change the way she thought about things. Thank god for Summer Holiday. Lily was ready to do some major soul-searching and take time to decide what was really important to her. The summertime is much easier to avoid the boys, since she didn't have to see them in class every day. Lily boarded the Hogwarts Express with her new Head Girl badge pinned to her chest, not really looking forward to having to see Severus again, but sort of looking forward to seeing James again. She curled up in the Heads' compartment and fell asleep. When she woke, she didn't know where she'd ended up. Occupational History: Student, worked part-time babysitting over the summers for neighborhood kids. Personality: Lily is a fire cracker. She's got a bit of a temper, and isn't afraid to tell people off when she needs to. She's also a naturally, very talented witch. Her prowess at Charms and Potions were noticed right away by her professors, and she did not let them down through the years. Charms and Potions were, indeed, her best subjects in school. She didn't falter in many subjects, though she never put much faith into Arithmancy or Ancient Runes. She was far more interested in the "physical" magics; Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures. In her fifth year, Lily was entrusted the badge of Hogwarts Prefect. It was a sign of her hard work and dedication, not to mention her habit of following the rules to a T and encouraging others to do the same. She was also a member of Professor Slughorn's Slug Club, and sat on the Charms Club, as well. All her activities kept her very busy at school. Lily thrives when she's busy, and goes insane when she's bored. On top of everything else, Lily has a huge heart. She will help those in need, befriend the friendless, love everyone around her and lay down her life for her loved ones. Strengths: Charms, Potions, Speed-Reader, kind, mature, good-natured, matronly/motherly, great sense of humor Weaknesses: Quick to assume or make judgements, short temper, a tad impatient and old-fashioned Likes: Chocolate Frogs, Sugar Quills, Butterbeer, green salad, morning jogs, cuddling on rainy days, kittens Dislikes: closed minded people, eggplant, fried foods, vanilla pudding, sunburns Motivation: Lily finds her motivation in caring for others. She wants to protect and help people, and do the right thing. Her morals stand firm. Fears: Losing her friends and loved ones, losing the war, spiders, angry dogs Where, eventually, do you see this character going? Do you have any future plans or ideas for what you want to do with your character?: I want Lily to continue acting as if she was Head Girl, even though they're not at school. She's a tad on the bossy side. She may lead a group of people to try and figure out how to get off the ship. She wants to get back to the school at whatever cost, since she wants to be Head Girl.
